1. Lesson Details

* In-person lessons at a café or my office near Shinjuku Station, Tokyo.
* Weekends or weekday evenings; frequency to be discussed.

2. Fees & Payment

* ¥3,000/hour + ¥500 fixed transportation fee per lesson (¥3,500 for one hour).

Our Goal

Our main goal is for our daughters to speak English naturally with each other at home, not only with their tutor or school friends.

We are looking for someone who can create a fun, English-rich environment through play, games, picture books, storytelling, and everyday activities.

What Matters Most to Us

We want the girls to have plenty of opportunities to speak English themselves. Rather than asking mostly yes/no questions or doing all the talking, we hope the tutor can encourage them to express their ideas, ask questions, tell stories, and have meaningful conversations.

It is especially important that both girls have opportunities to speak directly to each other in English, with the tutor gently encouraging their interaction.

We would also appreciate someone who can naturally model correct English, help expand their vocabulary, and gently encourage them to use English when they speak Japanese, without pressure.

Hello, my name is Shohei. I am a business executive working in the education industry in Tokyo.

When I was a university student, I traveled abroad frequently and had many opportunities to use English. However, almost 20 years have passed since I graduated, and I have rarely used English since then. As a result, my speaking ability has declined significantly.

I am now serious about improving my practical English skills again.

I am looking for a private English tutor who can meet me in person once a week for about 3–4 hours, preferably at a fixed time. I am flexible about the location as long as it is within Tokyo.

Rather than having a traditional lesson for the entire time, I would like to create an “English-only half day” every week.

For example, we could have coffee, practice business English, discuss business, education, current events, culture or travel, take a walk while talking, or have lunch together.

My goal is to regain my English ability and become comfortable communicating naturally in English for several hours.

I would especially welcome someone with business experience who enjoys discussing a wide range of topics and can correct important mistakes while encouraging me to speak as much English as possible.
